Process Optimization, Centralized Resource Access & New Hire Onboarding

🔍 Business Need: The Instructional Design team faced several challenges that slowed down productivity and created inconsistencies across projects. Resources were scattered across multiple platforms, making it difficult to locate the right tools at the right time. New team members struggled to find what they needed to get up to speed, and there were inconsistencies in how each team member communicated with partners through the lifecycle of a project. These inefficiencies led to duplicated efforts, delays, and a lack of cohesion in project execution.
🎯 Solution: To meet the team’s need for a centralized resource hub, I designed and developed the CD Homepage, a custom SharePoint intranet site tailored to the Instructional Design team’s workflow. The site organizes essential tools and documents by project phase, making it easy to find what’s needed at each step. It includes project plan templates, communication guides, branding assets, process documentation, timekeeping tools, professional development links, and an image repository. The layout is intuitive, searchable, and designed to support both day-to-day tasks and long-term team growth.
✅ Impact: The CD Homepage significantly improved team efficiency and consistency. It reduced time spent searching for resources, supported faster onboarding for new team members, and helped standardize project execution across the team. By consolidating tools and documentation into one accessible location, the site became a go-to resource that supports every stage of the instructional design process, ultimately enhancing productivity and collaboration.
